Rumor
Fact

RUMOR: Grady ISD is trying to become a 2A (11-man football) size district, this is why we are taking so many transfer students.

FACT: Grady ISD has no intention of becoming a 2A (11-man football) school.  Grady does need to accept transfers to maximize state funding that is based on our average daily attendance.  Grady ISD is considered by the state to be a Chapter 41 district (property rich) and must send money back to the state each year.  By increasing our average daily attendance, Grady ISD is allowed to keep a larger portion of the money that the state would require Grady ISD to send to Austin for property poor district distribution.
