All students in grades 7-8 will take semester exams and cannot be exempt.
All students in grades 9-12 will take final exams in all classes at the end of each semester unless students meet the following criteria.
Have an A in the course and missed that class no more than 4 days for the entire semester.
Have a B in the course and missed that class no more than 2 days for the entire semester.
Have not been in ISS or DAEP during the school year.
This exam will count for 10% of each semester grade.
School related “E” days do not count towards absences for exemption purposes.
Medical “M” absences do not count towards absences for exemption purposes as long as the student was at school for part of the day, either before or after the appointment and a Dr. Note is provided within 3 school days to the secondary school secretary. It is the responsibility of the student to produce the Dr. Note.
All other absences count towards final exam exemptions.
Every time a student is tardy 3 times for any combination of class periods an absence will be added to all of the student’s classes for exemption purposes.
