We feel that this is in the best interest of our students and staff to start break early due to the rising numbers of quarantine and isolation on our campus. Although the majority of the COVID-19 cases and close contacts are coming from outside of school, we feel that this is the right decision in order to keep our students and staff healthy. The last day of class for the 2020 year will be tomorrow, Tuesday December 15th and will resume on January 6, 2021. We thank you for your understanding and wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Grady ISD!
We are needing your help! We have 6 children from High Sky Children's Ranch who have not had gifts delivered to the school. We are desperately needing volunteers to help make these kids' Christmas as special as possible. If you choose to adopt a child, you will receive paperwork with gifts listed in the $20 range, $30 range, and $40 range. They have asked that you choose a gift in each category and bring it to the school unwrapped. If you are interested in helping, please call the school at 432-459-2445 or comment on the post. We will get you the information that you need. Thank you for helping bring some cheer to these kiddos.

Parents/Guardians, please disregard any alerts from Parent Portal about your student’s grades this week. The Portal is having technical issues that we are working on correcting.

As a reminder, tonight's basketball games will be played at Coahoma, beginning with JV boys at 5:15. Tickets will be sold first come, first serve at the door.

There will be no JH basketball games this week (November 30-December 4).

Student's safety is one of our top priorities at Grady ISD. We are asking for help during our afternoon pickup. It is fine to congregate and visit with other parents while waiting on students to be dismissed, but we ask that you keep your children close to you during this time. We have witnessed children running and playing chase as well as running across two lanes of traffic to their vehicles while parents are visiting. We just want to make sure that all of our students are as safe as possible and would appreciate your help tremendously. Thank you for making Grady ISD a great place to be.

Grady ISD- Update:
Schools closed for the rest of this 2019-20 school year. 4/17/2020
Texas schools will remain closed for the rest of the 2019-20 school year as ordered by Governor Abbott. We will continue to work with the Texas Education Agency in determining how we can move forward with distance learning and related educational needs. In the coming days, GISD will provide more information on school matters like graduation, online lessons, grading procedures, etc.
We are grateful for your support and the dedication to your children. Contact us, if you have questions or concerns. Have a blessed day.
Leandro Gonzales – Superintendent

CDC now recommends you wear a mask in public where you can’t avoid being near people, like in grocery stores, pharmacies & healthcare settings https://bit.ly/2V8o5Y2. Remember though, your local authorities may have already issued a specific order re: masks. #StayHomeTexas

The virus lives in tiny droplets in the lungs of people w/ COVID-19, even when they don’t show symptoms. We can breathe the same air as anyone within abt. 6 ft. of us. Staying farther apart from people during this time reduces the chance of breathing in the virus. #StayHomeTexas

¡Mantente sano! #StayHomeTexas

Kinder and 1st graders, don’t forget to pick up your packets. We are here until 9:00.

All kinder and 1st grade students will need to pick up packets tomorrow, Monday April 6th, from 7am-9am in front of the school. Parents, please drive north through the old bus lane and stay in your vehicle. Personnel passing out packets are paying attention and see you. If it takes a minute, we are grabbing your work. After it’s safe, someone from the vehicle can get out and pick up the packets. Thank you again for your patience through this process.

You can spread #COVID19 without knowing you have it. Whether you have symptoms or not, #StayHome. If you have to go out, wear a mask/bandana/scarf, regularly wash your hands, and stay 6 feet apart. We must stay #ApartTogether to slow coronavirus. https://tea.texas.gov/staywell

Did you know that washing your hands with soap & water eliminates #Coronavirus molecules preventing the virus from infecting you & others? The same is true when you disinfect surfaces. Science says it works. https://bit.ly/2w7TGAJ #COVID19 #txed #StayWellTexas

Pickup will be in the old bus lane in front of the school. We ask that everyone remain in your car. When you get to the table in front of the front entrance you will be waited on and instructions given at that time.
