Wristbands for the game are on our campus. You are welcome to pick up the ones that you have reserved. Please contact the school if you wish to have those sent home with your student. Parent Portal letters were mailed out today. They contain the new website and your student(s) portal ID. This is a different website than what has been used before. It has an updated look and should be easier to navigate. You can use Parent Portal to view your student(s) attendance and grades, and even set up individualized alerts.
Parents who drop off, please make sure you use the striped area in front of the school for drop off and pick up. This will allow a little better traffic flow in the morning and afternoon. DROP OFF/PICK UP: Parents will enter Wildcat Drive and go all the way down to the turn around by the ag shop. If you wish to walk students up, please park in that parking lot (east of the school). MIDLAND BUS INFORMATION The buses will be at the same location as last year, CR 3600 and 349 at the water pit 11 miles north of the loop. -Pick Up will be from 7:00-7:15. Both drivers will be leaving location at 7:15 and will not stop or hold up if running late. -Drivers will be doing temperature checks before students are allowed on the bus. DO NOT pull away until you’ve been given the thumbs up from the drivers. -If you carpool, students who are running a temperature will return to the car that they came in. Please just communicate that with your carpool family! -If students are required (or want) to attend a 7:30 tutorial, it will be the responsibility of the parent to get them to school at that time. Teachers will communicate this with the students and parents. -Pick up will be 4:05-4:20. If a child is not picked up by 4:20, the drivers will bring the child/children back to school. You will have to pick the child up from the school.
A few things regarding drop off and buses: -If dropping your students off, please use the attached map. -If you would like to walk your students to the staff at the door, please use the east parking lot. -We will be doing temperature checks when getting to school, please make sure that you get the thumbs up that your student/students are good before pulling away. -Bus riders, your driver will be contacting you on what time they will be picking up your child. -Students riding the bus will also have their temperature taken prior to entering the bus. We are asking parents to please be visible at the door or out front just in case students are running a fever and not allowed on the bus. -Remember that drivers and passengers will be required to wear a mask on the bus. There has been some false information recently circulating on social media that needs to be immediately clarified. We want to assure all of our parents that if your child has COVID-19 like symptoms while at school,we, are going to isolate him/her on our campus (as we always have done in the past for any other illness), and will contact the parent(s) as soon as possible to come to school and pick up that student. Please see our back-to-school plan (posted on the school website) for additional guidelines in place once a student has been sent home.
PARENTS: A letter was mailed out this morning which includes our 2020-2021 school calendar, Return to School plan, and an At Home Learning form. The At Home Learning form needs to be returned no later than August 18 ONLY if your student(s) will be participating in the home learning model.
Just an update on the first day of school: As long as our PPE materials are in as expected to be, Grady ISD will be code yellow as far as masks are concerned. As soon as we have this on campus, we will push out information on picking up. 3. Items on campus (jackets, binders, etc) that belong to your children will be organized. Nothing is going anywhere for the time being. We will communicate with you about a date and time to drop off items (books, chrome books, calculators) and pick up your items as soon as that is available. The varsity football game vs Southland scheduled for Friday, Sep. 6 has now been rescheduled for Thursday, Sep. 5 and starting at 6:30. There will be no JV football game next week.

Parents of 7-12 students are invited to an informational meeting on the district drug testing policy. The meeting will be at 5:30 PM in the wildcat gym on the home side on Tuesday, August 20 before meet the wildcats.

Registration and TSI Testing All 6th grade-12th grade students will have registration on Tuesday, August 6th at 9:00 am-2:30 pm. Please make sure that you bring updated shot records. You will not be able to register without them. Please call the school if you have questions about that. TSI Testing for all juniors and seniors will be offered on Monday, August 5th at 9:00 am. It is $5/test. Please call the school if you have any questions regarding the TSI Testing. It is mandatory that you have met the requirements for Dual Credit classes prior to registration if you plan on taking classes through Howard College.

The Grady Education Foundation is at it again. Wendy Glaze has many hats to wear at Grady ISD, but one of them is yearbook sponsor. Board Members awarded a grant for a new camera and software to help the class with editing and photography. Congratulations! This made for a lot of smiles today and for years to come!

The high school academic banquet will be Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at the Wildcat Gymnasium beginning at 6:00 pm. Students that will be recognized should of received their invitations with their tickets.

Due to the recent death of one of our students, Grady ISD will cancel classes on Friday, May 3rd. The arrangements are as follows: Visitation/Viewing will be at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home all day tomorrow, Thursday- May 2nd. Funeral will be at 10:00 am on Friday, May 3rd in Seminole, TX at the Mennonite Evangelical Church. Graveside will be at 3:00 pm in Stanton, TX at the Evergreen Cemetery.
The district JH tennis tournament (Saturday, May 4th) will be in Big Spring at Comanche Trail Park instead of Borden County.
The Sports Banquet has been moved to May 22 at 6:00 PM.

There will be a silent auction and bake sale during the JV and Varsity High School basketball games December 4. All proceeds will go to Matthew Snider who is an elementary student here at Grady and is battling Autoimmune encephalitis. If you have any items you would like to donate for the silent auction please bring them to Mrs. Hunt or Mrs. Ivy before Tuesday.
