Last Friday, the 5th graders took a field trip with Mrs. Short to the AIRSHO at the Midland International Air & Space Port. The event was hosted by the CAF High Sky Wing. The kids got to watch an impressive flying display of vintage military aircraft and some popular civilian aerobatic performers. They got to get up close to the aircraft and see them perform in ways you won't see anywhere else. They also got to watch licensed pyrotechnic technicians shake the ground with simulated bombing raids, strafing runs, and the infamous "wall of fire." This was a great experience for the 5th graders to get to see and learn more about aircraft and its history!
